Forced Labour Policy

Scope

Duraweld Ltd is committed to ensuring that forced labour has no part within our organisation. This statement sets out the company’s actions to understand all potential risks related to the business and to ensure as an organization, we want to do business in a legal, ethical manner adding value to society and the environment instead of doing harm.

Helping stop child labour, human trafficking, modern slavery and forced labour is fundamental to us. We want to make sure that our organization doesn’t take part in any form of exploitation and also helps end it to the best of our ability.

This policy applies to our entire organization and those we do business or partner with including suppliers, vendors and contractors.

Forced Labour is a serious crime that destroys families, communities and causes significant harm to victims. It is the illegal exploitation of people for personal or commercial gain, and involves people being coerced and forced into providing a service to others.

It is a crime that affects people of all genders, ages (including children) and ethnicities and is a violation of fundamental human rights. As a company we have zero tolerance on forced labour.

Our Policies

Duraweld Ltd.’s Modern Slavery Policy, Child Labour along with our Recruitment, Corporate Social Responsibility, Code of conduct and Whistleblowing policies reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.

Our Suppliers

Duraweld Ltd operates a supplier policy and maintains a preferred supplier list. We conduct due diligence on all suppliers before allowing them to become a preferred supplier. This due diligence includes an online search to ensure that particular organisation has never been convicted of offenses relating to modern slavery [and onsite audits which include a review of working conditions]. Our anti-slavery policy forms part of our contract with all suppliers and they are required to confirm that no part of their business operations contradicts this policy.

Our Processes for Managing Risk

In order to assess the risk of modern slavery and forced labour, we use the following processes:

• Identify and assess potential risk areas when considering taking on new suppliers and regularly review our existing supply chains
• Review the potential for risk at regular intervals, including the possibility of re-auditing a supplier or conducting spot checks.
• Protect whistle blowers.

After due consideration, we have not identified any significant risks of modern slavery, forced labour, or human trafficking in our supply chain. However, we continue to be alert to the potential for problems.

Training

To maintain awareness and ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business our Ethical Business Conduct Policy is included in our Employee Handbook.

We provide training to all members of staff, and this has been incorporated into our induction programme.

Our Commitment

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Duraweld Ltd’s slavery and human trafficking statement.
