New Signage for Yorkshire Trading Company

New Signage for Yorkshire Trading Company

A major new Yorkshire Trading Company store is preparing to welcome customers at Flemingate in Beverley, complete with a comprehensive suite of illuminated and projecting signage designed and manufactured to give the regional retailer a strong presence within the busy shopping destination.

Positioned opposite Dunelm, the 10,300 sq ft store is one of the largest units at Flemingate and marks an important new location for the long-established East Yorkshire business after years of looking for the right opportunity in Beverley.

Tailored Signage for Maximum Visibility

Retail signage has to do more than identify a shopfront.

It needs to reproduce the brand accurately, work with the architecture of the building and remain clearly visible from the different routes customers use throughout the day.

For the new Yorkshire Trading Company store, our team produced a coordinated signage package combining illuminated fascia signs with prominent projecting signage.

The project included:

Wraparound Fascias Two internally illuminated ACM fascia signs with full back trays and flush-face push-through acrylic lettering.
Main Fascia One additional internally illuminated ACM fascia using the same construction and illuminated lettering.
Projecting Signs Two 4000 × 900mm internally illuminated vertical ‘Hong Kong’ style signs, built around steel box-section frameworks and clad in fabricated ACM trays.
Swing Sign One 30mm non-illuminated projecting swing sign for additional pedestrian-level identification.

The combination gives the store strong visibility from both directly in front of the unit and from approaches along Flemingate.

Designed for Day and Night

The internally illuminated fascia signs provide a clean, professional appearance during the day while ensuring the Yorkshire Trading Company name remains prominent after dark.

Push-through acrylic lettering gives a premium flush finish, while the wraparound fascia sections allow the branding to follow the shape of the building rather than being confined to a single flat elevation.

The vertical projecting signs add another important viewing angle.

Mounted perpendicular to the shopfront, they are designed to catch the attention of people moving along the pedestrian routes through Flemingate, helping customers identify the store before they reach the entrance.

A Regional Success Story

The project also has a strong local connection.

Yorkshire Trading Company is a fourth-generation family business based in East Yorkshire, employing almost 600 people across its head office and network of 34 stores. Its shops stock more than 10,000 products across homeware, gardening, DIY, clothing, pet care, toys and everyday essentials.

Beverley has been on the company’s radar for a number of years, with Yorkshire Trading Company waiting for the right unit and location to become available.

The new Flemingate store provides that opportunity and is expected to create around 25 full- and part-time jobs locally.

A New Addition to Flemingate

Flemingate has become an important extension of Beverley town centre, combining retail, restaurants and leisure with a cinema, hotel and college campus.

With the centre close to full occupancy and footfall reported to be growing, Yorkshire Trading Company’s arrival adds another established regional retailer to an increasingly busy destination.

For Durasign, the project is a good example of how a coordinated signage package can help establish a strong identity across a large retail frontage.

From illuminated fascia signs to projecting pedestrian signage, each element has been designed to work together, giving Yorkshire Trading Company a distinctive new presence at Flemingate as it prepares to welcome customers in Beverley.
